In Windows 95 this is on the Start Menu (click Start button, then click Run) and in Windows 3.1x choose the Run option (Files Menu) from the Program Manager. Then type in the path where you inserted the distriubtion disk and then setup.exe (Ex: a:setup.exe) and press Enter. Follow the on screen instructions. ----------- QuickStart ----------- Playing Picture Puzzler is very easy. Start the Puzzler Program, ppuz.exe. The steps then are: 1. Load an Image by choosing Open New Image from the File Menu 2. Choose Scramble Puzzle from Puzzle Action Menu 3. Choose Puzzle Type (level of difficulty) 4. Solve Puzzle by dragging and dropping puzzle pieces. We've included some sample .bmp bitmap images for your use. You may use any bitmap image in Picture Puzzler. In addition to the bitmap images, there are three wave files (yes.wav, no.wav and win.wav) that are used by Picture Puzzler. If you wish to have sound when playing Picture Puzzler, be sure to keep these wave files in the Puzzler application directory. For detailed information on all features, view the Picture Puzzler help file accessible from the Help Menu. ----------------------------- Shareware Version Differences ----------------------------- Picture Puzzler is not Freeware, but Shareware. That means you may evaluate this program for 30 days. The only differences between this version and the registered version are: 1. The shareware notification window does not appear in the registered version. 2. The puzzle save and load saved options are disabled in the shareware version. 3. The create custom puzzle is disabled in the share- ware version. If you choose to continue using this program then you must order the registered version for $15.00. See ordering information from the Help menu for more details. ==================== UPDATE: May 6, 1998 ==================== There is one change and two added features in this version of Picture Puzzler. Version 3.2 now supports many different image formats including BMP, PCX, GIF, JPG, TGA, TIFF, and others. Also in the registered version you may save an uncompleted puzzle to disk. The save option is in the file menu and is saved with a .PUZ extension. Also, you now may associate a music midi file with Picture Puzzler. We've included a sample file, HOT.MID, for you.
